Free Video Trimmer — Cut and Trim Videos Online, No Upload

Cut your video to the exact length you need with Skycally's free online video trimmer. Works entirely in your browser — no installs, no uploads, no signup.

Skycally's Video Trimmer lets you cut any video to the exact clip you need, directly in your browser. Upload your video, drag the start and end sliders to your desired range, and download the trimmed result in seconds. No server upload is required — everything runs locally using your browser's built-in MediaRecorder API.

Unlike desktop software, this trimmer requires no installation and works on any device with a modern browser. It supports MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WEBM input formats and outputs a clean WebM file ready for sharing, uploading, or further editing.

Video trimming is one of the most common editing tasks — whether you're removing a silent intro, cutting out a blooper, isolating a highlight, or shortening a clip for social media. This tool handles all of those needs in a clean, distraction-free interface with no ads interrupting your workflow.

The output file is saved as WebM (VP9), which is widely supported by Chrome, Firefox, Android, and most modern platforms. If you need MP4 output for specific platforms, you can convert the WebM using the Video Converter after trimming.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does trimming affect video quality?

No. The trim captures the video using your browser's MediaRecorder at the original quality settings. The resulting clip closely matches the original in visual quality.

What video formats can I trim?

You can upload MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WEBM files. The output is always saved as WebM (VP9) for maximum browser compatibility.

Is there a file size or length limit?

The maximum file size is 200MB. There is no duration limit — you can trim short clips or full-length videos.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser using the MediaRecorder API. Your video never leaves your device.

Can I trim multiple sections from one video?

Currently the tool supports one trim operation per video. For multiple cuts, trim each section separately and merge the clips using the Video Merger.

Does the trimmer work on mobile?

Yes. The video trimmer is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets running Chrome or other modern browsers.

Why does the output file have a .webm extension?

WebM is the format produced by the browser's built-in MediaRecorder API. It is supported by Chrome, Firefox, Android, and most video players. For MP4 compatibility, convert the output using a video converter.

How accurate are the start and end cut points?

The sliders offer second-level precision. For frame-accurate cuts, use a desktop editor such as DaVinci Resolve or CapCut after downloading the trimmed clip.
